The Role

As the Manager of Clinical Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of our valued customers, who rely on our solutions to accelerate their research, streamline processes, and drive innovation in clinical research. You will lead by example, fostering a customer-centric culture while implementing best practices to deliver outstanding Clinical Operations. The Clinical Operations scope includes repetitive activities performed by Castor personnel, or strategic outsourcing partners, that support the complete clinical trial process from start-up to close-out. Currently at Castor these services include product training, patient and site device provisioning, medical coding and on-demand technical guidance. The scope of Clinical Operations will continue to evolve in line with Castor’s mission and strategic direction. 

You are also responsible for all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of customers, business partners, employees, and business information in compliance with our information security policies.


What you’ll focus on

  • Clinical Operations Strategy
    • Contribute to and execute the Clinical Operations strategy aligned with the company's goals, emphasizing a proactive and scalable approach to delivery of Clinical Operations.
    • Continuously analyze Clinical Operations metrics and customer feedback to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Optimize team workflows to meet service delivery goals and objectives.
    • Ensure alignment with Castor’s mission and strategic direction.
    • Ensure the high-quality delivery of all contracted Clinical Operations. 
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with the Professional Services, Compliance, Commercial,  Product, and Engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex or critical customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Strategic Partner Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic outsourcing partners, fostering collaboration and driving mutual success.
    • Coordinate regular meetings and business reviews with partners to evaluate performance, identify growth opportunities, and address challenges.


What you’ll bring

You’ll definitely have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (life sciences, computer science, engineering, or similar). An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (min 5 years) in the life sciences software and/or SaaS technology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of life sciences software solutions and a good understanding of clinical research including knowledge of regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11, ICH guidelines, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Experience with SDTM (Study Data Tabulation Model) mapping, eCOA (electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment), data conversion, and implementation. Strong knowledge of database management, database design, SQL querying, data manipulation, and database administration tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing strategic partnerships and building collaborative relationships with external organizations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges and partnership dynamics.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
